Hello I’m Tom. I grew up on a cattle station surrounded by horses, cattle, kangaroos and a pack of working dogs who were my best friends until I went to secondary school. Having always been close to animals, being a Veterinarian seemed a logical choice. I graduated from the University of Queensland in 1997.

After a few years of mixed practice both here and in the UK, I found that small animals are more fun, less smelly, cuter and much less likely to maim you, and I have been happy to settle in to small animal practice, where I particularly enjoy surgery and dentistry. Soon after this decision I was thoroughly maimed by a 70kg Rottweiler.

I happily joined the team at WVH in November 2008, and look forward to seeing your pets soon. I’m sure you’ll understand my hesitation if you own a Rottweiler!!
